The Office in 5 Iconic Quotes

The Office is arguably one of the most iconic television shows to ever hit the screens. It’s hilariously relatable, which makes it a favorite for anyone and everyone. No matter who you are, it’s a show we can all get behind.

But when it comes down to which episode of The Office is best, things get a little more controversial. Everyone has their favorite characters and moments, which is why it’s nearly impossible to narrow down the series into a few of the top scenes.

With 146,000 words spoken by Michael alone in the more than 200 episodes that have aired, there are certainly dozens of countless quotes that are applicable to our everyday lives. Between Michael, Pam, Dwight, Jim and the rest of the cast, there has been a multitude of words to live by nestled throughout the years of The Office.

“Whenever I’m about to do something, I think, ‘would an idiot do that?’ And if they would, I do not do that thing.” – Dwight Schrute

This is a quote that more people need to live by… though I guess it’s subjective what an idiot is or what they would do. Nonetheless, take it from Dwight: self-reflexivity is so important!

“If I don’t have some cake soon, I might die.” – Stanley Hudson

Stanley may be classified as one of the most negative characters on the show, but at least he’s got one thing right – his diet. He may be a little dramatic, but he’s saying what we’re all thinking.

“I am running away from my responsibilities. And it feels good.” – Michael Scott

Life is hard. Sometimes you just need to run away and forget about everything. It may not be the most mature way to face your problems, but sometimes you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do.

“There’s a lot of beauty in ordinary things. Isn’t that kind of the point?” – Pam Beesly

At the end of the day, a lot of us are pretty average people. What’s much more incredible than something extremely fantastic and out of the ordinary is being able to appreciate the little things.

“Everything I have I owe to this job…this stupid, wonderful, boring, amazing job.” – Jim Halpert

We all have a love-hate relationships with our job from time to time, but it’s important to remember the love parts of the position (like how it’s gotten you where you are today) when times get tough!

Of course, there are many other defining quotes that could have been included in this article. If I listed all of the greatest moments from the series, this post would literally be never-ending. All this just goes to show that The Office is the best, and that’s not up for debate!
