The octagon can be dangerous place even for the most skilled fighters. With the constant evolution of MMA there’s always a new way to knock someone out. This might be the first time, however, that I have seen it happen by getting thrown to the canvas face first.
Welterweight Charlie Ward didn’t make it very far in his UFC debut on Sunday night against Galore Bofando in Glasgow, Scotland. In fact he barely made it past the two minute mark when a failed attempt at a body lock sent him flying head first to the ground. The canvas along with gravity pretty much handled the rest. That, and the fact that Bofando immediately began to hammer fist just about every early childhood memory from Ward’s brain.
