Netflix and Chill (a week from Thursday)?

A York, England man has been banned from having any form of sexual activity with a woman – unless he tells police 24 hours in advance. This is because of a sexual risk order, which is a civil complaint that can be made, even if the person has not been convicted of a sexual offense.

Yes, everyone here is now a potential criminal.

This man is also limited on how he can use the internet and must tell the police about every phone and device that he has that he could use for accessing the internet, calling, texting or poking.

The restrictions are part of an interim sexual risk order and will continue until May 19, when officials decide whether to make a full order.

In other words, if this guy want to start a sexual relationship of any kind with a woman, or just get a little somethin’ during a Netflix binge watch, he has to contact police and tell them who the woman is. He must do this at least 24 hours before any sexual act occurs.

(Our recommendation? Call every morning and hope for the best.)

Full sexual risk orders last for a minimum of two years and breaching an order can lead to a prison sentence of up to five years. They are used when someone has not been convicted of a sexual offense, but the police convince a court it is necessary for one to be made against the person to protect the public from him or her.

There’s no word on what the man has done, or even who he is, due to local law. But his game is screwed … a lot more than he’ll be for a while. Hope his Netflix account is active.
