Our nation is truly at a crossroads. With the dawn of an era where everybody has access to a camera, those in power are increasingly being held accountable for their behavior. One of the unfortunate side effects of this is that when powerless people start to gain power while powerful people are simultaneously having their power challenged, violence happens. The latest city to fall victim to excessive violence is Baltimore. And no matter how you feel about it, one thing is clear: you know more than anybody else, and everyone needs to listen to you. Here are five reasons why:
1. The riots in Baltimore are indicative of a bigger problem of which you are a victim.
The situation in Baltimore is not a unique circumstance. In fact, it’s a lot like your current situation! The cops that work for the oppressive system are damn near indistinguishable from that one thing in your life, and the plight of the oppressed class is as EXACTLY like that time when you did that thing that was just like that. If the world could see that your existence is a perfect distillation of the current state of civil unrest, they would surely see that this conversation MUST be had, and the one to have it is you (not them)!
