26 year old Jared M. Gurman does not like to be told that a zombie apocalypse would never happen. But that’s exactly what his girlfriend, Jessica Gelderman, told him when the New York couple went out near Williston Park. The heated debate started after watching an episode of The Walking Dead. The handsome devil pictured above told his girlfriend that a zombie outbreak was very possible. His girlfriend “lol’d” and told him it was a ridiculous idea.
The strapping young man then started to rage. His girlfriend decided to go stay with her parents while her Brad Pitt look-a-like boyfriend cooled off. But that didn’t happen. The two continued to caps lock battle via text messages until finally, Jessica headed back to their apartment to calm him down. This is when she saw her Fabio sitting on the front steps with a rifle.
In a statement to police, Jared M. Gurman, 26, said he told his girlfriend, Jessica Gelderman, 27, also of Williston Park, to leave.
“Jess walked into the room and I fired the gun once and hit her,” Gurman said. “She said, ‘Oh my God. What did you do?’ ”
A single round from a .22-caliber semiautomatic rifle pierced Gelderman’s lung and diaphragm, and shattered her ribs, said Nassau Det. Lt. Raymond Cote, commander of the Third Squad.
This story does have some positivity though. Instead of waiting for his GF to turn into a zombie, Jared actually took her to the hospital. That’s good karma bro. Unfortunately it won’t remove the bullet that’s still lodged in her back.
Gurman, of 516 Marcellus Rd., was arraigned on one count of second-degree attempted murder. Nassau District Court Judge Valerie Alexander ordered him jailed without bail.
The other good part of this story is that it gives people hope. Look at this dude’s face. He has a girlfriend. That means just about everyone on this planet has a chance.
