Theater Accidentally Switches Madagascar 3 With Paranormal Activity 4

Nottingham’s Cineworld made a pretty big, yet pretty funny f*ck up over the weekend. Bright eyed, bushy tailed children headed into the theater on Saturday morning to watch the number one animated hit “Madagascar 3.”  What they got instead was the opening scene of Paranormal Activity 4.  Oopsies!  The movie starts with a terrifying sequence from the last film where a body is hurled directly at the camera.  Even if you are the most badass of badass dudes, this scene will mess with you.  I can’t imagine what it did to a bunch of 8 year olds wearing 3D glasses.  A mortified mom had the following to say.

“They started playing the movie and I thought – this doesn’t look right. And then I recognized the opening sequence as a flashback to the first movie, which I saw a couple of years ago.

“It opens on the most terrifying scene in the first film – where a body shoots full pelt towards the camera.

“It’s enough to make grown men jump, so you can imagine the terror in these young faces.

“Everybody just scrambled for the exits, all you could hear were children crying and screaming. Everyone was very upset.

“It was only about two minutes worth of the film but it was enough to scar them for life.”

While this is definitely not something you want to expose children to everyday, you have to admit that watching 25 families full of shrieking kids barrel out of a theater would be pretty funny. Props to Cineworld for their grade A trolling. It doesn’t get much better than this.
