Will Bionics Ever Become Mainstream? (8 Pics)

Articles and videos have been sprouting up for some time showing us the advancements and prototypes in bionic technology. In one case, there were two athletes who actually performed better with their new limbs, than they did before they had lost them. So my question is this: As bionic technology becomes better and cheaper, will we start to see people without disabilities begin to trade in their limbs for more efficient ones? Also, if someone who loses both of their legs in an accident and gets a new set which allows him to run twice as fast, should he be allowed to compete in the Olympics?
