I’ve been following Japan’s space elevator idea for awhile now, and while I thought it was just a few scientists trolling the world at first, I’ve begun to realize that this will actually be done, and a lot of us will live to see it.  That to me is badass.  You might one day take your grand kids to Space the way  your grandparents took you to Disneyland.  Here are some pretty cool concepts of what they want to do.  If all goes well, the space elevator will be done by 2050.  In other words, stop smoking and start eating more salad.  More here.
