My neighbor broke this down for me one day, and since then, I look at people crying in a much different light. He said that when you see a man crying in the open, you know some serious shit went down. Mom died, dad has cancer, wife got custody of his children, that type of stuff. But when a woman cries, it’s often because “Nancy was being a total bitch at work.” It’s human nature to be compassionate when you see people bawling.  We lose a little piece of this compassion when people cry over stupid shit though.  It’s almost like accidentally crying wolf.  Thus, in order for a man to not become completely desensitized to crying in general, he needs to learn to just ignore women.
