An Australian man caught driving a motorized cooler box through a beachside resort town appeared in court charged with drunk driving, The Courier Mail reported Monday.

Christopher has to go back to court on August 16th to see if the charges will stick.

Petrie’s lawyers won an adjournment from magistrate John Parker as they sought to establish “whether a motorized esky [cooler box] was in fact a motor vehicle.”

We’re hoping they’ll let him off on a technicality, because honestly, how much damage can a 50 cc engine do? It’s barely got more juice than a set of Barbie Power Wheels.  Sadly, you can get DUIs on bicycles now-a-days; so unless his Lawyer is Keanu Reeves from “The Devils Advocate,” I think he’ll be getting slapped with a fine.
