10 Botflies found in dog’s snout

Stalk us on Facebook and Twitter or grab the RSS Feed

This dog got into some barbed wire down in Costa Rica.  When the wounds didn’t heal these guys discovered she had 10 botflies in her snout.  These things are so fucking disgusting, yet I can’t stop watching.

Those get into the necks of cats and rabbits in Michigan. They get about the size of your finger just past the first knuckle. The hole they’re in has to be slit open because they’re so fat they won’t come out of the hole. Very discusting parasites. Almost as gross as lawyers or the insurance industry.

Ya they’re foul, but I love watching them get pulled out of people for some reason.

I seen where this chubby guy let one grow in him on purpose. Nasty!

(Thanks for the “W”. I don’t even like to write the word.)

Yeah it’s pretty sick but it’s nice of them to help out the dog at least he won’t die painfully. But with those wounds the dog better just get hit by car and die instantly cause the botflies will be back.

The dog is fine. Apparently they found 3 more in her neck the next day – they got them all out though.

hehe, I like watching those things being removed, and yes I am one of those freaks that would purposely have them grow just to tweeze them out XD

My problem is though the method of removal used in the video, squeezing them out?? Risking squashing them inside the dog was a stupid move, the trick is to cover the wounds with a gel that cuts off their oxygen, they rise to the surface to get out and you pluck them out, pain free :)

another good way to get rid of them is to use flea and tick drops on the dog as the pack say and the they will come out by themselfs some get to big and you still have to pull it out but is way is alot better for the animal

Agreed with Lisa, should’ve taped the holes over at the least!

Squeezing them out must’ve been painful for the poor dog. Tweezers are best
