I remember as a kid, my folks going through this kind of shit so one night the old man sits by the door and waits. When they crept up, he swung the door open, grabbed one of the little shits, pulled him into the house and then proceeded to beat seven shades of shit out of him. The cops agreed with him that the kid “must have fallen down” when he tried to run away and he was charged for vandalism and disturbing the peace. Problem gone overnight.

Today’s camcorders can pick that up stuff up easily. Mine’s a cheap one one, and I have no doubt it would pick that up.
