Getting a swat for being obnoxious is hardly child abuse. And yes, anyone acting like that needs a good swat and needs their toys taken away until they learn not to scream and whine.

As for people being too self-absorbed to have children, it’s a good thing that some of us are intelligent enough to know we can’t tolerate that kind of behavior and don’t go around breeding. There are enough people out there who think kids are all Kodak moments and have them without having the first idea how to raise them and we wind up with things like this.

I agree that the kid is fine. Saying he’s a brat with 30 seconds worth of back-story is fucking ridiculous, but of course, we are all Internet people.

I would say, though, that it’s hard to judge the parents as well. The video ends right after he shouts, and you can’t just cater to every single whim your child has. The child has to learn at some point that if he doesn’t like something, tough shit. To a certain degree.

Family pointing a camera at you isn’t all that bad, you know? So lay off the parents, too.

The child looks at the camera and screams “No! Don’t take a picture of me!” That’s why he looks up. It’s not staged and I don’t think he gets gratification from being filmed. If anything it ticks him off.

Now that’s the problem today, this kid needs to be physically abused with a leather belt. See how that generation turns out, worse than anyone else. Smack them, if Children’s Services take them from you for that, good riddance.

Good observation. Initially like others I hadn’t realize that he was saying “don’t take a picture of me”. The more mature thing would have been to calmly tell the kid that dying is part of a video game, and to not get upset over such minor things. There was no need to bust out the camera here.

But I do I think it’s really easy for everyone who’s commented (including myself) to bitch at the parents from an outsider perspective – in real life we commit similar faults all the time without being aware of it, just like them, whether it be with kids or whoever.
