That is, they increase milk production. We're just so scared of alcohol these days that it's not much talked about. Guinness is the only modern beer I know for sure does this, but I have been told that others of the same type do as well. Less-adventuresome nursing moms must settle for supplementing with brewer's yeast. Can't answer for giving it to kids, though.
