If you’re going to troll Yahoo Answers, do it right

May 7, 2009 · Print This Article

Over the last year it’s become quite popular to troll Yahoo Answers.  99% of these trolling attempts completely fail though, and this makes us unhappy.  Against our better judgment we’re going to point out the mistakes some of you clowns make, and effectively teach you how to troll Yahoo Answers.

Usually failed troll attempts follow the same patterns.  Obvious grammar errors, too many details, old use of a dead meme etc.  Let’s take a look at some examples.

Why are there school?

Good idea, bad delivery.

What they should have done:

  • Changed avatar
  • Made lengthy argument about why school isn’t needed while adding grammatical errors.

I live in Georegia but dont see rusia

  • Too many typos.  If someone can create a yahoo account they can form sentences.

Is Bang Bros a homework site?

  • Person took screen shot with the open question text showing.  Next time log out before taking screen shot.

Before I posted my question, I made sure to create an account with a believable random name.  Ironically the first and last name I randomly chose was an identical match to that of our other writer.

And now for the question:

my-question

Don’t leave the question open too long, choose an answer:

my-answer

Conclusion: Spend the extra 30 seconds to choose an avatar, a correct answer, and log out before taking a screen shot.  At the end of the day, a successful troll will get crowd reaction and won’t get banned.

Well done. I dont think the first answer actually wanted to help, she just wanted to say MY FIANCE over and over…reminded me of the Seinfeld episode. Good stuff.

  4. In one of my answer I said about search in google, something like that and I got a letter saying somebody flagged my answer. When I given my explanation they didn’t replied. Now I am careful about mentioning other search engine, just say search engine.

How was that even a troll question? You didn’t rile up any of the answers of which you only received 2 anyways. A good troll question will get 30+ pissed off answers telling you how stupid you are.
